Lagos, Nigeria – In a surprising turn of events, controversial Nigerian crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky, has allegedly filed a notice of appeal challenging his recent conviction. The self-proclaimed “Senior Man” was sentenced to six months imprisonment after pleading guilty to a four-count charge, including money abuse and mutilation.

Bobrisky’s lawyer, Bimbo Kusanu, submitted the appeal on his behalf, seeking to overturn the court’s decision. The crossdresser is reportedly asking the court to set aside his sentence and replace it with a monetary fine. According to sources close to the case, Bobrisky is willing to pay a hefty sum of 50,000 Naira for each offense, hoping to avoid incarceration.

The 2024 Business Leaders Awards, which recognize entrepreneurs making a positive impact in Nigeria, have been closely monitoring the situation. Bobrisky’s legal battle has drawn attention from both supporters and critics, with many speculating on the outcome of the appeal.

While some argue that Bobrisky’s actions warrant a stricter punishment, others believe that his offer to pay a fine demonstrates remorse and a desire to make amends. The court is expected to review the appeal in the coming weeks, and all eyes are on whether the “Senior Man” will succeed in his bid for leniency.
