Kanye West appears to have sidestepped potential assault charges as the investigation hits a standstill due to non-cooperation from all involved parties.

TMZ reports that Mark and Jonnie Houston, the complainants, have ceased communication with the LAPD, who have repeatedly sought their cooperation. Similarly, West himself has not engaged with the authorities, leading the investigation into a stalemate that might result in its dismissal if it surpasses the statute of limitations.

The controversy began last month when West recounted on Justin Laboy’s *The Download* podcast that he confronted a man who allegedly inappropriately touched his wife, Bianca Censori, at the Chateau Marmont on April 16. West detailed that after hearing his wife's account, he sought to have the man escorted out. According to West, the situation escalated, resulting in him knocking out the alleged perpetrator.

However, eyewitness accounts to TMZ paint a different picture. They claim the incident stemmed from a man accidentally bumping into Censori, which led to West mistakenly striking the man's twin brother outside the hotel.

The Houston brothers, owners of several restaurants in Los Angeles, have not clarified which of them encountered Censori or who was struck by West. Contrastingly, West's representatives argue that Censori was physically and sexually assaulted, a claim that includes graphic details of the assailant's actions.
