Rick Ross, the renowned rapper, is facing accusations of avoiding his namesake, "Freeway" Ricky Ross, as asserted by the former drug lord himself.

In an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Freeway, who gained notoriety as a drug lord in the 1980s before his arrest in 1994, revealed his grievances with the Miami rapper, who controversially adopted his name as his stage persona.Celebrity gossip app for free

Freeway claimed, "Every time I’m around, he disappears. These guys, when you got money, they don’t care if you beating women or making them lick tampons. Everybody f*** with you."

He further criticized the music industry's embrace of Rick Ross despite his past as a correctional officer, stating, "He was a correctional officer, but when he got some money they forgot he was a correctional officer. You got gangsters doing records with him. People will say they hate snitches but they doing records with a police officer."

The ongoing dispute between Rozay and the original Rick Ross dates back years. In 2010, the former drug kingpin filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against the MMG mogul, alleging Ross used his name and likeness to advance his music career.

Ross responded to the lawsuit by stating, "We just gonna let the people deal with that...sometimes you lose."

The legal battle proceeded to trial in 2013, with the court ultimately ruling in favor of Rick Ross, allowing him to continue using the name as his rap moniker. However, the judge acknowledged the influence of the real Rick Ross on Rozay's music and persona.

While Rick Ross continues to thrive in the music industry, the controversy surrounding his name persists, with Freeway Ross's recent accusations shedding light on the ongoing feud between the two.
