Jaafar Jackson, the 26-year-old nephew of the late Michael Jackson, was spotted in Los Angeles on Sunday wearing a red jacket and black pants, reminiscent of his uncle’s iconic look in the “Thriller” music video. The young actor was filming scenes for the upcoming biopic “Michael”, in which he will portray the legendary singer and dancer.

The film, directed by Antoine Fuqua and produced by Graham King, will chronicle the life and career of Michael Jackson, from his rise to fame with the Jackson 5 to his solo success and global impact. The film will also explore the personal and professional challenges that Jackson faced, including the allegations of child sexual abuse that tarnished his reputation.

Jaafar Jackson is the second-youngest son of Jermaine Jackson, Michael’s older brother and former bandmate. He has previously released music as a solo artist, and has expressed his admiration and love for his uncle. In a social media post announcing his casting, he said he was “humbled and honored” to play the role of Michael Jackson.

The film has the support of the Michael Jackson estate, as well as his mother Katherine Jackson, who said that Jaafar “embodies” her son. “It’s so wonderful to see him carry on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers,” she said in a statement.

“Michael” is expected to be released in April 2025, and will join the recent wave of musical biopics that have depicted the lives and careers of artists such as Queen, Elton John, Whitney Houston, and Elvis Presley. The film will feature some of Michael Jackson’s most iconic performances and songs, such as “Billie Jean”, “Smooth Criminal”, “Beat It”, and “Bad”.1234
