Dena’s story begins in the bustling Central Business District (CBD) of Nairobi, where she worked as a waitress after completing high school. It was during this time that she found herself succumbing to the allure of alcohol. Recalling one particular incident, Dena narrated how a friend invited her to a club to wait out the traffic, leading to an evening of excessive drinking. “Nilikunywa pilsner ya kwanza, ya pili, tatu. Tukajipata tumekanyaga crate,” she recounted, which translates to, “I had the first Pilsner, then the second, the third. We ended up stepping on the crate.”

However, Dena’s narrative is not one of downfall but of triumph. She credits her faith for her transformation, expressing gratitude for her redemption. “Mungu alinikomboa (God redeemed me). Thank you, Jesus,” she declared.

The former State House spokesperson also shared heartwarming insights into her family life, particularly the joy of watching her firstborn son, Amani, turn 18. She reflected on his birth in 2006 and how he has been a source of strength and inspiration, making co-parenting a smooth journey for her and her family.

Amidst rumors and speculations about her health, Dena addressed the false claims of her battling cancer that had spread on social media. She firmly dismissed these rumors, assuring her followers that she is in good health and has no plans of leaving them anytime soon.
